If you want to live in accordance with God's plan, you must make a decision to become obedient to Him in every area of your life. Everything else will follow that decision. "Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you." Jeremiah 7:23-24

The New Year
It's that time of year again when many of us think about New Year's Resolutions. I wonder what the percentage of people are who make resolutions. I wonder what the percentage of those people are who keep them?
The one resolution I made last year was because of Kendall. I said I wanted to read through the Bible chronologically in the version of The Message. Well, I didn't break that resolution, I just haven't finished it yet. I'm still working on it - so that is going to be a continuation for this year. I'd like to FINISH it this year. I really like reading the Bible this way and even though I know how it ends, I want to finish it.
So - am I making any other resolutions? Yes, I believe I will. I've thought about this a lot the past couple of days. I think we all want to make resolutions that we think are possible to keep - so I've tried to be careful in making them.
1. I need to drink more water. This year, starting now, I am going to take my Nalgene bottle with me to work and drink it through the day. That isn't that much water but it's more than I'm drinking now. After my surgery I really drank a lot of water, but I've really tapered off. Time to increase again.
2. I need more physical activity. Seriously. I need to get out and walk. So, with the thought in mind that I need to make this resolution something I'll keep, I guess I'd like to say that I will walk at least twice a week. I want to walk MORE - but twice a week would be ok for now.
3. Cut back on trips to Starbucks..........No. Not gonna do it. Scratch Resolution #3
That's really it for me - I think if I can drink more water and increase my activity, I'll be doing pretty good.
Honestly - I'll do my best - I really will. Stay tuned next year to see how I did.
Happy New Year!

I'm glad you're still doing the chronological thing. I just LOVE reading it from the Message. And good luck with your other ones--I agree. #3 isn't a good one.
